Let the speculation begin. CrossFit.com posted a video with Coach Greg Glassman where he communicated some ideas regarding the WOD’s for the 2009 CrossFit Games. I was intrigued and immediately challenged to try and figure out how to format a weekend event in the manner described by Coach. Watch the video and provide some insights to comments.
http://media.crossfit.com/cf-video/CrossFitGames09_Coach09Format.wmvWade- I personally LIKE it. I like that professional “Franners” will no longer dominate. Why? I find it intriguing and interesting in a “constantly varied” kind of way that WODs at the games might include never-performed exercises.
John- After watching the video, I was left wondering whether he meant movements that most CrossFitters have never performed at all, or just movements that have they’ve never competed on (in other words, never been used in the CF Games). Could we be seeing stuff like double-unders and snatches in this year’s games? Air squats? Muscle-ups?
I’ve also been wondering how the events at the qualifiers will compare to those of the Games themselves. I’m sure they can’t be the same, but how different should they be?
